JULY 2022: SELECTED as Fellow by the Niehoff Center for Film and Media Studies - University of Cincinnati.

My project "Ecotonal" has been awarded funding as part of the long-year thematic on Borders, Boundaries and Limits in (and of) Screen Media.

I will be working alongside documentary filmmaker and dear friend Brett Meyer, in the creation of 4 video performance pieces that will take place in natural sites within Ohio. These sites are being carefully picked by me according to their ecological, historical and cultural relevance.

These pieces will be presented at the end of AY23 - Stay tuned!

MAY-JUNE 2022: SELECTED as Artist in Residence at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory AIR program

I am in Iowa, everyone! I got the super good news at the beginning of March that I had been selected to be part of the first cohort of artists in residence for the 2022 season at Iowa Lakeside Lab; it just took me a bit longer to get all caught up with life before making the announcement.

A bit about the space:

Lakeside's 147-acre campus is located on scenic West Okoboji Lake, on Little Millers Bay. The bay and adjacent natural areas are used as outdoor classrooms for Lakeside's university courses and Outreach Programs. The campus is open year round, and visitors are welcome to visit during daylight hours. Lakeside Lab aims to be a national model for immersive, field-based research, and education.

Excited to be here!

SUMMER 2021: SELECTED AS Abakanowicz Creative Community Fellow AT MILDRED'S LANE

This summer, I got to spend 3 weeks at Mildred's Lane, as a ACC Fellow. I was part of the program FOREST/BODY/CHAIR, lead by artists Gina Siepel and Sara Smith. This has been an invaluable experience for me that directly impacted my art practice, and I am grateful for it.

I got to know the work of Ohio-based organization United Plants Savers through an online course on Foraging given by The Herbal Academy, early in June this year. I've been in conversation with them since, and we finalized the dates of my participation in their Artist-In-Residence program this week! Very excited to visit their sanctuary and make work there next year. If you would like to learn more about their work, visit their website.

My performance "Victory" will be part of The Performance Arcade 2020. This international performance art festival takes place in Wellington,Nez Zealand. I will perform during the opening night, the piece will be performed by other artists the following days. Very excited and grateful for this opportunity! Learn about the piece I will be performing in this festival here.

JANUARY 25TH, 2020

I will be performing live at Highways Performance Space on Saturday, January 25th. The piece is called "Veiled" and is inspired by the mysterious busts of veiled virgins that populate Western Art History. Thinking around ideas of womanhood, sacredness, authorship and his-story, I plan on questioning-revolting-revealing and liberating this archetype. Do join me! Tickets here.

AUGUST, 2019

One of my doormats from the series "Bienvenidos" made it to the group show "Some Place Like home", at Avenue 50 Studio. Exciting!

JUNE 1ST, 2019

My video essay TMR-YTD (an essay about traveling) will be featured in the first edition of TONAL - Arte Contemporáneo, in Puerto Vallarta, JAL, Mexico. If you are around, please join me Saturday, June 1st, for the opening and reception. There are rumors of a live performance by yours truly as well, more coming soon!
